How do you play Biskit (Biscuit)?

Biskit (also Bizkit or Biscuit) is a popular party dice game in France and Belgium. Sit in a circle and take turns rolling two dice once each. Depending on the result:

RollWhat happens
Total 7Everyone puts a thumb on their forehead and shouts “Biskit!” – the last one drinks a sip.
Total 9The player to the roller’s right drinks.
Total 10The roller drinks.
Total 11The player to the roller’s left drinks.
DoubleThe roller hands out as many sips as one die shows – four for a double 4.
Double 1Everyone clinks glasses and takes a sip.
Double 6Hand out six sips and invent a new rule for the rest of the game.
Total 3 (1+2)The roller becomes the Biskit, the prisoner of three.

The prisoner of three

From now on the Biskit takes a sip every time anyone rolls a 3 on a die – two for a double 3. The role only passes on when another player rolls a total of 3.

Shout “Biskit!” when no 7 was rolled and you drink a sip. Knock a die off the table and you drink.

Variations

  • Pastis: on a 5 and a 1, everyone shouts “Pastis!” and the roller drinks once for everyone who was faster.
  • Rule five: on a total of 5 the roller may invent, change or cancel a rule.
  • Prisoner rule: the Biskit must always keep a hand on their glass – catch them without it and they drink.

Tips

Rules vary from group to group. Before the first roll, agree which version you’re playing and how big a sip is. Roll into a box lid or tray so the dice stay on the table.

Agree on drinks and amounts before you start. The game works just as well without alcohol.
