How to play
Deal the cards one at a time. Each player must get a higher card than the player before – otherwise they drink.
Variations
- Up the ladder: whoever beats the previous card five times in a row may set a rule for everyone.
- Tie: if your card equals the previous one, both players drink.
- Reverse: the direction flips after each round – now the card has to be lower.
Tips
Aces are high, 2 is the lowest card. Lay the cards face up in a row so everyone sees the “ladder” grow and nobody has to remember values.
Agree on drinks and amounts before you start. The game works just as well without alcohol.
